Degree Apprenticeships

Why choose a degree apprenticeship?

A degree apprenticeship is a great opportunity to learn within a business environment as well as through academic study. This ensures that what you’re learning at university is relevant to the workplace and that you can quickly put into practice what you learn in the classroom.

Unlike a full-time degree, a degree apprenticeship gives you the advantage of graduating with several years of work experience under your belt. As the cost of your fees are shared between us and the government, you won’t finish your course with student loan debt. You will also receive a wage for the work you do.

Why choose Web Applications as your employer?

We have an ethos that drives every decision we make. Ask any Webbie and they will tell you: Our mission remains to positively impact our employees, customers and community through a culture of learning, growth and innovation. In 2017, we received the Princess Royal Training Award and the Investors in People Award in recognition of our commitment to our employees’ development. This means that we invest in our employees and strive to ensure that they have the best possible start to their careers.

Our degree apprentices spend a certain number of days a week working with us and a certain number at University (as determined by your course). Yet our ethos means that there isn’t a clear-cut division between work and learning. While you will gain valuable work experience through your day-to-day tasks, you will also have the opportunity to attend training sessions, receive one-to-one mentoring and get regular feedback on your work.

We expect our degree apprentices to work hard, and in return you will have the freedom to manage your own workload and shape your career. We believe that you get out of a career what you put in, so work hard with us and you can go far!

What are we looking for?

We hire people who share our ethos and want to contribute to the success of the company. You should be able to demonstrate your drive to learn and a desire to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. You should be self-motivated and have good communication skills.

Most of all, we expect to see a passion for IT and a real determination to succeed in a digital career.  If you spend your free time learning new skills or working on projects that interest you, we want to hear about it!
