STEM Inspiration Awards

This year, we’ve had a brilliant run with award wins and shortlists. To name a few of our wins, we received an accreditation from Investors in People, along with the Health and Wellbeing award. Craig was recognised at the Big Chip Awards 2018 for exceptional leadership, and we also won the Community Commitment Gold Award too!

We are lucky, because it has continued into the winter months, and we are now incredibly proud and excited to announce that we have been shortlisted for the STEM Employer Award – Small/Medium Enterprises for STEM Learning UK.

This award “aims to reward outstanding commitment to the STEM agenda, and how this is embedded within the culture of the organisation” – we’re well known for our culture of learning, growth and innovation, and positively impacting those around us. STEM subjects are integral for the future of the tech industry, so encouraging others to get involved is second nature to us; which is why we have been considered.

This year alone Web Apps have teamed up with Girl Geeks and Hac100, mentoring and judging at local hackathons. Whether it’s running our WebbieZone at Hack Oldham, mentoring young people, or attending events and lectures to enlighten people on the career opportunities in our sector, you can see that us Webbies love basically anything to do with STEM!

On Thursday 1st November, we will be heading over to the House of Lords, in London, to join the other nominees for the award ceremony. We are dedicated to raising young people’s engagement and achievement in STEM subjects and careers, so having that recognised means a lot to many people.

We thank STEM Learning for this recognition and we are looking forward to seeing the other nominees who are also invested in helping young people develop at the event. To find out more about the STEM Inspiration Awards nominees’ click here.
