Can I have a think about my quotes....I haven't got a clue

Thursday 13th September was a busy day here at Web Applications UK as we celebrated Programmers Day and our 18th birthday.

It’s a huge achievement for a software company to be standing for 18 years. Statistics show on average 6 years is a life expectancy for a software company. Technically, Web Applications UK is now legal to drink, so here’s to many more years of learning, growing, and innovating – Cheers!

As always, we celebrated in traditional Web Apps style which involved maybe a little too much cake. But it wouldn’t be a Web Apps celebration without it! We played a game of ‘What’s In The Box?!’ to celebrate. A game that involved our Webbies guessing what mysterious items were located in the box.  The items included;

  • A pair of socks
  • A plastic/fake plant
  • An air pump
  • A stormtrooper bobble head
  • A lion toy

As you can imagine we had some great answers to the items. A huge shout out to Ryan who managed to guess all items correctly.

Programmers Day is a day to celebrate Programmers and thank them for all that they do.

Whilst researching Programmer’s Day we came across this fun fact;

Programmers Day is an international professional day that is celebrated on the 256th day of each year. The number 256 was chosen because it is the number of distinct values that can be represented with an eight-bit byte, a value well-known to programmers. 256 is also the highest power of two that is less than 365, the number of days in a common year.

At Web Applications UK, Programmers’ Day and 18th Birthday has been enjoyed by all, roll on next year celebrations!
