Although the title of this blog may trick you into thinking it is simply about Children in Need, it is not! Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Michelle and I have re-joined team Web Apps as part of the admin/marketing team.
If you’re an avid, life-long reader of these blogs (which I am sure you are), then you may have spotted my name on previous write ups. I joined the team in 2012 as a PR Assistant and left to pursue further studying. I am excited to be back working at Web Applications UK, catching up with friendly faces and meeting new people.
Anyway, back to the point…
Friday 18th November saw Web Applications UK join the rest of the UK to raise funds for Children in Need. As avid fundraisers, we never miss an opportunity to support a good cause.
In traditional style, by donating a small amount of money, Webbies ditched their uniforms for the day and the office was filled with onesies, dressing gowns, yellow and spotty clothing! Our Chief Exec, Craig got into the spirit and donned his inner Darth Vader, sporting his Star Wars dressing gown and even brought in his toy light-sabre for maximum effect.

What fundraising day (or any occasion for that matter) would be complete without a cake sale, and that’s just what we did with cupcakes, chocolate cornflake cakes and sausage rolls on offer.
During lunchtime, many Webbies got involved with the ‘After Eight Game’. If you’re unfamiliar with this game, it simply involves placing an After Eight chocolate on your forehead and moving it into your mouth without using your hands.
It was a close race but Nick pipped the others to the post and managed to grab the first win. A re-match saw the race become a little closer as everyone learnt the techniques, with Matt grabbing the second win!
All in all, our Children in Need day was very successful and fun was had by all, whilst raising money for a great cause. As it stands, we have raised over £80 with donations still coming in!
