We're going to YouthHack!

So it goes

It’s been nearly a month since we last sponsored a Hack, so we thought it was time to move it up a gear. We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be the headline sponsor for Hack Manchester Junior Half Term Youth Hack, in association with Hive Learning Networks.

We recently heard it said by one of the Great Uni Hack guys that a Manchester Hackathon isn’t quite right without Web Applications Group Chief Exec. Craig Dean. Given our recent history as headline sponsors of Hack Manchester, Hack Manchester Junior and our platinum sponsorship of the Winter Student Hack event, that’s probably about right.

If you’ve been up all night writing code in an organised fashion somewhere in Manchester, chances are you’ve come across Craig once or twice. He looks like this:

As a company, we are guided by an ethos that is founded on three core principles: learning, growth and innovation. That’s exactly what we look for when judging a hack, as well as great execution. Sometimes a good looking front-end goes a long way too! If you want to win best in show at YouthHack this Febuary, ask yourself the following questions;

  1. Did I learn anything new, or do something I haven’t tried before?
  2. Is the hack my team built new, and something that hasn’t been seen before?
  3. Did I meet new people, work in a team and have a blast?

See the theme? Hackathons are all about invention: doing something new. Go out there, have fun, and break some rules!

What’s the prize? That would be telling. Watch this space.
