We’re always doing our bit for charity here at Web Applications, so when Christmas Jumper Day rolled around on Friday 18th December, we couldn’t wait to dig out our festive woollies to raise some money for Save The Children. We’re also big fans of cake and savoury treats and with our in house baker Viv raring to go, we decided a ‘treat sale’ would top up the funds nicely.
The day was a relatively normal day at the Office, however a large cloud of festive spirit hung in the air, and people just couldn’t help humming those Christmas songs. One person in particular was Charlotte who couldn’t get enough of the array of musical jumpers on show – she even went one step further and on her lunch break went to our nearest Primark store to buy a singing jumper for herself!
Viv has never passed up an opportunity to don her chef’s hat and apron and what better way to end her baking for 2015 by creating a chocolate Rudolph masterpiece. I’m pretty sure everyone will agree that it was delicious, not a single crumb left by the end of the day.
Late into the afternoon, a lucky dip could be found at my desk where people came in flocks to win a prize. Most prizes contained sweets, so as you probably guessed the Dev office was rife with sugar-filled men, probably not the best combination for a Friday afternoon…
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by everyone and we not only managed to raise the Christmas spirit level, but we also managed to raise an estimated £74.50, with the money still rolling in to be counted.
From everyone here at Web Applications, we hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year!
