Web Applications UK: a Microsoft Gold Application Development Partner

Jack Simpson

Head of Marketing and Communications

I know it was you, Fredo.

We are delighted to be able to say that we have been certified as a Microsoft Application Development Gold Partner. We can reveal that our high performance toolkit, Babel Direct, has been judged to meet the standards for compliance in Windows Server 2012 R2; a noteworthy achievement by any IT business’s standards.

As a company, this means a great deal to us. It is a representation of our continued commitment to cutting-edge development. It means we have, and will continue to employ some of the best and brightest IT professionals in the North West. It means that just like our developers, we’re always finding ways to get better.

Any software house is defined by its commitment to the continued progression of its employees. It is the nature of the IT industry to be in perpetual motion, and learning from the people around you is inherent to a good developer. Creatively driven open source projects, such as GitHub, are a great testament to this – reminding us that the smartest person in the room never learns anything.

We’re emulating this spirit with our Personal Development Time scheme, where our employees are given time within the week to reflect on and hone their abilities. This might be learning a new coding language, a personal or team project or attending a training session given by a senior member of staff.
Our developers are actively encouraged to work together, through open conversation and buddy coding to achieve better results. We see a return on our investment when our software is held up to the highest standards of professional competency.

The phrase ‘Application Development Competence’ doesn’t seem to conclude with a strong enough adjective – in terms of both our employees and the work we produce, we hold ourselves to a high standard, and will continue to go from strength to strength.
