The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce regularly holds events throughout the region to bring together their members and discuss any issues facing our business community. As Oldham President of the GMCC, our Chief Executive, Craig jumped at the chance to host the recent Action for Business forum on a topic he is extremely passionate about; education. The key issue up for discussion was the collaboration of businesses and educational institutions for mutual gain.

In order to thrive as a business, building and maintaining a proficient workforce is essential. Engaging with young people enables organisations to shape the next generation of workers by helping to improve skills and encourage career choices. For educational institutions to prepare their students for their future in the best possible way, the input of employers is imperative. At the forum, the first steps were taken by bringing organisations from industry and education together.
