As I’ve been working at Web Applications UK for one month I thought it was only right to give an insight in to my time here so far.
When I first arrived along with Natalie Bailey as PR Assistants, we were both straight in at the deep end with the tasks we were given. Getting to grips with the technologies Web Applications create and use was tricky to begin with but I’m getting there now; working here means I’m learning continuously.
My first day seems a blur of tweeting, blogging, getting to know the company and trying to remember people’s names! When Nick, our Sales Director, came up to me and said we were leaving in half an hour I was intrigued as to where we were going and why? It turned out we were going to Leeds to see our stand for the Travel Technology Europe exhibition I was to attend in London the following week; something which would put my PR skills to the test.
This has proven to be the theme regarding my time here – It’s so varied, there’s something new to do on a daily basis and I’m constantly busy! There’s always support on hand though and I’m not afraid to ask the friendly team I’ve joined for help if I need it.
Learning on the job and being given the opportunity to develop is one of the key beliefs here at Web Applications; without it I don’t think I would have seen such an improvement in my work after only a month.
