Reece’s Toy Drive

Clapton is god

Reece is a five-year old boy who was diagnosed with cancer when he was two. His cancer is now in remission, and Reece is on a mission! Keeping in mind the amount of time Reece spent in the hospital, he wanted to do something special for the other children and their families who are going to be stuck at hospital during the holidays. He started a Toy Drive. Reece and his father Colin enlisted the help of the Junior Chamber of Commerce (JCI) who spread the word to their members (i.e. Us).

Throughout this week various members of staff have been bringing in toys to be handed out (by Reece in a Santa Clause costume) on December 16. Reece and his father are travelling the length and breadth of the UK trying to reach as many areas as they can in the two weeks running up to Christmas. They will start in Glasgow, travel over to Cardiff, then through to London and back up to Leeds, stopping at a number of other cities on the way. Our presents will be given to the children at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Manchester. Gifts will also go to these kids’ young siblings, bringing Christmas cheer to entire families. When JCI got in contact about this charity we knew it was something we wanted to participate in, and we are grateful that we have been given this opportunity.

Get in contact with your local JCI branch to find out when Reece is making his way into your area, and how to donate.
