Notes from the Gala

Those who believe in telekinetics, raise my hand.

This past Friday night Web Applications UK sponsored and attended the Oldham Gala Dinner 2010.

The dinner was held at Clough Manor in Denshaw on Friday, October 15th 2010. Whilst last year’s numbers at the Gala Dinner seemed to slipping, this year the Gala was brought to life with a packed house; some late-goers were turned away, paying the price for not purchasing their tickets in advance. Web Applications UK occupied a full table of ten.

The dinner began with a Drinks Reception and then a few words from Paul Roberts, the President of the Oldham Local Chamber Council. During his welcome speech Paul Roberts announced Web Applications’ own Craig Dean as his successor to the LCC Presidency which will come into force next spring.

The dinner consisted of four courses followed by coffee and treats. After dinner Martin Gold took the stage as a guest speaker. Martin Gold is a renowned comedian known throughout the country and is a favourite of the Variety Club and did an excellent job with the after dinner entertainment.

The Gala lasted until midnight and we are very confident in calling the night a great success. As always we look forward to the next Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce event!

Update! Our picture made it into the Oldham Chronicle!  Key people to note, Vivienne next to Lee on the left-hand side of the picture and then Gordon and Craig on the right-hand side.
