We have been keen supporters of the awards since the beginning and in 2011, Chief Executive, Craig was externally nominated for and won the Businessman of the Year award. Last year it was Gavin Wheeldon who scooped the prize, but who will it be this year? The 2013 One Oldham Business Awards will take place on the evening of Friday 10th May at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham. Just one week left to go, the event is fast approaching and we can’t wait to celebrate Oldham’s successful and inspiring businesses.

Over the last few weeks, we have been hosting lunchtime training sessions in the state-of-the-art facilities at The Centre of Excellence. Chief Executive, Craig has been covering .NET fundamentals while Technical Director, Lee has been sharing his tips and experiences with SQL. Knowledge sharing is always at the heart of what we do – be it through buddy programming, writing wikis or holding training sessions. In the second instalment of Dinner with Dean, our Chief Executive, Craig took a different group of Webbies for a meal on Wednesday. This month, the lucky ones were Software Engineer Safder, and industrial placement students Nikki and Ryan. As we had such a lovely meal last time at local Italian restaurant, Fresca we headed back there once again. The food was delicious as ever and with the golden rule of having three courses fully enforced, we enjoyed plenty of it. The Web Applications UK Christmas parties are always legendary but this year’s is sure to go down in history as the best party of all time! Hosted at the National Football Museum in Manchester, the night began with a champagne reception and a trip in the diagonal elevator up to have a walk around the museum. Guildhall, London has been host to some significant events for notable guests such as the British Olympic Association and various royal families. As the British Chamber Awards were held there on Thursday 29th December, we were in awe of this incredible venue. Back at the beginning of October, Craig was announced as North West Entrepreneur of the Year by the Chamber Awards and therefore shortlisted for the national award.
