Endless Possibilities

Endless Possibilities

Saturday 9th March 2013 saw the 7th Annual Kingfisher Charity Ball held by The Kingfisher Community Special School. An iconic event in the school’s calendar, the ball aims to raise vital funds for the school alongside reflecting on the previous year. Held at The White Hart Inn, Lydgate, Web Applications UK went along to the event for the first time and we had a ball (if you’ll excuse the pun). We were joined by representatives from the school and various local businesses including Housing Units, The Fire Service, Greater Manchester Police Service and Royton Minibuses. As current Mayor, Councillor Olwen Chadderton will be holding this year’s celebration on Friday 8th March to raise money for her chosen charities; Oldham Young Carers Project, Alzheimer’s Society and Oldham Liaison of Ex-Servicemen Association. Wear a daffodil, Make a difference

Wear a daffodil, Make a difference

Throughout March, Marie Curie Cancer Care hold their Great Daffodil Appeal aiming to raise money to nurse terminally ill people. Web Applications UK have joined in with millions of people across the UK by wearing our daffodil pins. A donation, no matter how small, will make huge difference in the final hours of those who really need it. Today, we took part in Marie Curie’s national Wear Something Yellow to Work day. For a £2 donation, Web Applications UK employees were able to wear their own clothes for the day, providing they wear at least one yellow item. The offices

It has been a great few weeks for our beloved town. The spotlight has been on Oldham Athletic from their win against Liverpool FC in the fourth round of the FA Cup two weeks ago. Since then, our local football team have been using this publicity to raise and encourage others to raise money for charity. Their chosen cause is Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Royton, Oldham. So, to rally support for the OAFC lads in the run up to the Oldham Athletic v Everton FC match on Saturday, the Oldham Chronicle have been urging local businesses and schools to hold
