Cost Effective Solutions for Travel Companies

The notice board.

At the start of 2009, Kelworth Ltd., supplier of the AccoMan, AccoWin and AccoWeb products went into liquidation, and the future of a key system for nearly two hundred travel companies was thrown into doubt.  It was a sad day for staff and employees of an IT company that had nearly reached 20 years of trading, no mean feat in such a dynamic industry.

Web Applications decided to step in and purchase the software assets of the liquidated company, in an effort to provide some form of continuity of service to the beleaguered customer base, on 9 February, after a very quick (and stressful) series of negotiations, the Accoman/Accowin product, and the Kelworth customer base became the Acumen Division of Web Applications UK.

The first task was to re-engage the existing customer base, and explain, as clearly as possible, what had happened and what we were going to do about it.  This was done within the first two weeks, and was quickly followed with a User Group Seminar on 30 March 2009.

We quickly identified that the existing web solution was unworkable, and so we began work on a replacement, dedicating a team of our best professionals to putting a feature-rich and highly customisable alternative in place.

The last few years for Kelworth customers has been very dark, but Web Applications UK continue to light the road ahead, and the future for Acumen Division customers looks very bright indeed!

Web Applications UK have cut costs in our call centres and operations, by being easy to use and train, but most importantly they have opened up our low cost web channels, which have driven booking volume through the roof. With margins constantly under pressure, it’s nice to work with a partner that is driving cost savings.
