There is a very exciting week planned here at Web Applications UK. In addition to the recruitment fair on Wednesday at Salford University, we have a number of fun events on Thursday and Friday. Let’s see what is on the books for this week. 1) Thursday at 7pm is the start of the JCI Manchester’s Young Talent Awards program. The evening will honour eight individuals – one per award category. Seeing as our very own Craig Dean has been nominated for the Inspiring Education award, we are planning to be there with bells on. And by bells we mean gowns and tuxes. We have a full table for the night and hope to see all of our friends there! 2) Friday is the last day we will be accepting Webbie Award Nominations within the office. The award categories were announced a number of weeks ago, and the nomination window is finally closing. Once the last of the nominations is collected a short list for each award can be compiled and the real voting can begin. Fun! 3) Friday is also going to be turned into Children in Need support day. For a small donation Web Applications UK members can enjoy a non-uniform work day, and for those who wish to participate, there should be a number of amusing activities around the office. Allan will be putting his coke/pepsi taste buds to the test and will be tasting and identifying six cola variations: coke, pepsi, coke zero, pepsi max, diet coke and diet pepsi. In addition to this there will be a swear box in the directors’ office as well as individual forfeits per team of people (again, for those who choose to participate). And, last but certainly not least, there is a ViviCam Camera on offer as the prize for an office-wide raffle. Well, that is that, we will keep updating (as per usual) and let everyone know how things are coming along.
