The pre-season friendly between InterWeb FC and Commercial FC started off poorly, with the newly renamed Inter Web down two goals in the first five minutes.  Fingers were pointed at the fancy new kit, which the team were far too busy admiring to be paying any real attention to the game.

Web Applications UK Darren Mitchinson, quickly refocused attention when an Inter corner found the senior engineer at the back post.  The ball was volleyed into the back of the net opening the season’s goal tally with a fitting contribution from the sponsor’s own man.  Two more goals quickly followed allowing Inter to finish the half back in control at 3-2.

The second half saw both teams settle into a more serious affair, and the goal fest was over.  A solid defensive performance by Inter Web gave fans some optimism that the opening five minutes was nothing more than a pre-seasons blip.  Inter finished the game comfortable winners on 4-2 and ready to start the season proper against Athletico Rag over the bank holiday weekend.

Sponsors, Web Applications UK, were pleased with the first result in the new kit, and look forward to a successful trophy winning season for the team.
