I really enjoyed writing Darren’s Profile this week, and can I just say, he started it.
Today I sat down with Darren Mitchinson to get to know him better so that he could be the subject of this week’s profile. Twenty minutes later I know Darren a little better but still have limited information for a profile. I know that he is involved with his local football club and likes to swim, but when asked about his job it was one word answers all the way. So you’re a Senior Engineer? Yes. What do you do? Develop. What programs do you use? Many. I think you see where this is going. So, I decided to fill in the blanks myself, which means that some of this profile may be conjecture but I will keep to the facts to the best of my ability. Now that you have been duly informed, let’s begin.
Darren is 26 and lives with his parents in Glossop outside Manchester. He enjoys living at home because in general it makes life easier. He has a two year old son called Jake whom I’ve yet to see a picture of, but I’m sure is adorable. Darren is very committed to his football club, Inter Web, which he’s been involved with for the past ten years. Darren is a goal scoring defender and was voted MVP…by the opposing team. Despite Darren his team is second in the top division of Buxton League which consists of about ten other teams. As before mentioned Darren also enjoys swimming which I’m sure helps improve his glamour muscles.
Darren is a Senior Engineer, has been working for Web Applications for nearly three years, and is one third of the Red Team in the office. As a senior engineer he mostly spends his time doing new developments for new clients. He generally uses SQL, ASP, C# and JavaScript; Darren likes to make sure he adds comments to all his code and is known for being thorough.
Like your average 26 year old male Darren used to go out and have fun every weekend, but then disaster struck. Darren Mitchinson became a victim of a vicious alcohol-related barbeque fire. With disfiguring burns on his face and neck, Darren bravely donated a picture to document his plight. We have only images of his former self. Since the accident Darren can no longer return to his former haunt to pick up women, Staley Vegas, or visit his favourite curry house, Balti Towers, but instead stays indoors watching movies like Dude Where’s My Car, Mega Shark verses Giant Octopus and Me Myself and Irene. The idea of alcohol alone now is enough to turn his stomach, which is why he can only drink water. It’s a sad life, but we have every hope that the reconstructive surgery will go well. Luckily he has work to focus on while he recovers. I wish him all the best.
