Web Apps is headed back down to London for Travel Technology Initiative’s Autumn Conference, AKA the Travel Innovation Summit. The Summit will take place on Tuesday, September 21st and will begin at 9:30 in The Institute of Engineering & Technology, Savoy Place, London. Registration is now open for anyone who wishes to join us in this event.
Travel Technology Initiative (TTI) was founded in order to establish technology standards within the travel industry. TTI can now boast 150 members across Europe and the USA as well as call itself an e-commerce authority with the European travel industry. TTI is responsible for the UNICORN EDI messages for electronic booking in travel, tourism and leisure. TTI is considering taking on some new projects, including extending the TORIX message, developing an XML message standard for the transfer of specific content (like hotel descriptions) and standardising geo-coding, to name a few. All in all they are a pretty important and well respected establishment in the world of travel technology, which is why we are so excited to be giving the keynote speech at their Autumn Conference.
The theme of the conference runs of the lines of Travel being a highly innovative industry, but innovation brings risks. The right technology innovation choices can allow for significant cost-savings, improve customer satisfaction and boost business. Wrong choices can bring soaring costs with little to show for them. Most recently travel has witnessed the growth into the mobile space through location services and real-time travel information. TTI is bringing together the travel industry’s top innovators to talk about the benefits of good innovation and how to make it work for your business.
Web Application’s Chief Exec Craig Dean will be delivering the Keynote speech, Innovation: The Driving Force. The other speakers at the event include
Fergus Boyd, IT Innovation Manager, Virgin Atlantic Airways
Rachel Armitage, Co-founder, Zoombu
Ciprian Morar, Co-Founder, Explorra
Stephen Attenborough, Commercial Director, Virgin Galactic
Chris Amenechi, Senior Director of Merchandising & Ancillary Revenues, Continental Airlines
Louise Kendall, CRM Development Manager, TUI UK
Tom Britton, Product Manager, thetrainline.com
Frank Skivington, Vice President Commercial, Skyscanner
Personally, we can’t wait to hear from the guy from Virgin Galactic.
Registration for this event is now open, more information and a reservation form can be found here. Conversely take a look at the Summit’s listing in our Events section.
This is what the TTI Newsletter said about the event:
TTI Autumn Conference - Tuesday 21 Sept, London
TTI Travel Innovation Summit Travel can claim to be amongst the most innovative of industries. From the first package holidays in 1841 and the first scheduled London to Paris passenger flights in 1919 to space tourism and modern-day online dynamic packaging, travel has always been at the forefront of technological adoption. New technology is allowing some companies to make significant cost savings. Others are using innovation to improve the customer experience through personalisation and other CRM techniques. Some are using technology to power new innovative business models.
Most recently, we have seen early adopters innovating in mobile, seeking to heighten customer convenience and deliver pertinent information. Location based services, real-time travel information and augmented reality are just some examples of how the travel industry is taking to mobile. The TTI Travel Innovation Summit brings together some of the industry’s top innovators, people who are making a real difference to how consumers interact with the travel industry. Attend the Summit and hear for yourself how innovation can make the difference between an also-ran business and one that really stands out..
