The awards for ‘The One Oldham Business Awards’ will be presented Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Oldham and Web Applications will be a part of the action.

This Friday Web Applications is very proud to announce that a number of its members will be attending the Mayor’s Emerald Ball in Oldham.

There are a lot of things that can be said about Jeff. He’s a highly valued member of the Web Applications’ team, some might say the Superman of Services, and if you add a bit of speculation with conjecture and sprinkle with a hint of fantasy you may find Jeff has a secret admirer...but whom!

If you have come in contact with Web Applications in any way, you will probably have heard of Gordon. Gordon and his buddy Lee started this company back in 2000. They were left on their own and raised on the milk of a She Wolf until ultimately creating the greatest Empire Oldham has even seen (minus the discord).

As the number of people who willingly participate in being profiled dwindles, it will come as a relief to many (including me) that this week’s profile is on Mark, one of Web Applications’ nicest and most obliging developers. Mark is one of the young ones in the office and is still full of hope, happiness and excitement for the future. While I in no way want to imply his anticipation of good things is misplaced, I do want to take note of its refreshing (and often undervalued) quality and its positive impact on the office as a whole.

Web Applications is proud to announce it will soon be involved with the QA Apprenticeships.

Today I was given the opportunity to witness a victory for the forums. AcuWeb will be experiencing some enhancements soon; these are improvements that AcuWeb customers were able to choose. This current round of developments was brought about through a combination of forum wish-lists, customer feedback and functionality responses to AcuWeb. Web Applications compiled the data, looked at the results, and started working.

I sat down on Friday to talk to Chief Executive Craig Dean and get a real insider’s take on the exciting prospects on Web Application’s horizon.  The interview style conversation revealed some big-picture plans for the future and a look at what the Web Application’s team has been up to recently.

This week it is Allan’s turn to be profiled. Allan is Web Applications’ Network Engineer and has been a part of the company for over a year. I should probably mention he likes Coke Zero.

Web Applications is expanding! We have begun hiring quite a few new people to accommodate our increasing work load. We currently have two new hires and are looking forward to the addition of even more.
