If there’s anything that we enjoy doing, it’s helping the community and building the passion of young people interested in coding. One way we do this is by hosting our very own Coderdojo. Whether we’re giving someone an insight into their own personal hobbies & interests, or providing the knowledge they acquire for their future career -there’s plenty to learn at WebbieZone.
What is WebbieZone?
WebbieZone accommodates young people of all ages, introducing programming to beginners and helping experienced coders expand their knowledge further. The sessions are coordinated by our very own Software Developers, who volunteer to help mentor in order to keep them passionate about coding. The sessions involve programs and websites such as Scratch, Codecademy, Code Combat, Unity and we even hold Raspberry Pi sessions on alternate weeks.
Why should I join?
To put it simply, if you want to build on your coding experience, or you have excitement for coding and problem solving that you don’t learn at school, WebbieZone is the perfect place.
The sessions are run by our Software Developers and Placement students, and can answer all of your questions. If you feel you’re more experienced than what you’re working on, they can show you a variety of different websites so you can keep progressing.
When and where is it held?
WebbieZone is run every Thursday from 6pm-7pm (excluding School holidays).
We’re based just by the Oldham Mumps Metrolink station or if you’re driving, we’re just off the A62. Our free on-site parking is surrounded by a green fence.
