As a club partner, we’ve been involved with Oldham AFC for a large portion of our history. This has its benefits: foremost, it allows our involvement with the local community, teaching primary school-aged children the principles of coding at Laticzone. It also gives us an opportunity to support the club, with our presence at events such as their End of Season Awards Evening, held this year at Hotel Smokies Park.
Some lucky Webbies, including myself, dressed to impress and made their way to the venue to rub shoulders with players, board members and backroom staff alike. The club operates a player-sponsor scheme, where fans can fund their favourite players’ equipment in exchange for goodies. The sponsors in attendance sat with their chosen player for the evening – our table was flanked by winger James Dayton and Alex Williams Believe and Achieve Young Player of the Year, Jonson Clarke-Harris.
In between courses of a fantastic three course meal, we were entertained by a table magician and some memorable live acts.
Head Coach Lee Johnson shared some thoughts on the season, which saw Latics achieve their highest league finish since the season spanning 08/09.
Kat managed (see what I did there? I’m getting better at puns) to hold it together when she posed with Lee Johnson for a photo.
Star man of the moment James Wesolowski cleaned up, picking up a total of five well-deserved awards over the night. We loved mingling with our club’s players and staff – here’s to an even better performance next year!
