Saturday the 26th of April was the date this year we decided to embark on our traditional company Alton Towers trip.
It was an early start, and when the coach arrived a few of us were having a coffee or eating cereal in the office kitchen. Naomi and Kat had the bright idea to visit Subway en route, and handed out breakfast subs to some grateful Webbies. Amazingly, everyone turned up on time and we hopped on the coach. Hoping to make the journey go faster, we played a few games – including one called Drawception, which is essentially Chinese Whispers with pictures. Despite it getting a bit ridiculous, Ben, David and Mark were judged the winners, earning themselves a free lunch!
Once there, we found ourselves in groups according to ride tolerance. The more adventurous lot went in search of Alton Towers’ flagship rides: Rita, Oblivion and The Smiler. Some of us were more content with pretending to be eight-year-olds, spraying our colleagues with water cannons as they sailed past on the River Rapids!
Excepting Simon, who never quite managed to win himself a giant minion, we had an excellent day, and I can’t wait for the next one. Huge thanks are in order to Kat, for organising the day pretty much by herself.
