Supporting Young People Award Finalists

Those who believe in telekinetics, raise my hand.

As a business, and as individuals, we’re passionate about technology and our community. Nowhere is this more evident than in the work we do for and with local young people. In recognition of this, we were nominated for a prize at the One Oldham Business Awards. A couple of weeks ago, we were thrilled to hear that we had been shortlisted for the Supporting Young People Award!

The category is judged based on a company’s engagement with young people in a productive and effective way for both parties. It looks at the community impact of the business, particularly in relation to youngsters. With our code clubs, work experience program, apprenticeship scheme, internships and work with local schools on the computing curriculum, our entire business is focused towards young people – from primary school kids to graduates.

Local PR firm, New Image have been in to film a short clip of our work to be shown at the ceremony. And today, an Oldham Chronicle photographer has been in to take photos of our apprentices and Chief Exec, Craig. It’s not the first time we’ve been through this process either. In 2011, our very own Craig Dean won the Businessman of the Year Award.

We’ll be at The Queen Elizabeth Hall on 21st March for the ceremony. Until then, fingers crossed!
