A week on from the Travel Technology Europe exhibition, and it’s still a hot topic of conversation in our office. TTE is the largest exhibition in our industry and took place on 5th-6th February in Earls Court, London. Every year around 5000 visitors come together for two days, all sharing a common interest in both travel and technology.
Taking time away from the office, Nick, Cheryl and I made our way down to London to showcase our software and services. With demos of two versions of Traveller, along with the brand new sales interface, visitors were flocking to our impressive stand to see the best reservation system on offer.
Meeting with current customers is one of the main reasons we attend TTE. Visits from Holiday Cottages, Attraction World, Emperor Divers and Simply Chateau are always a pleasure. It was also great to meet with a wide range of partners and potential affiliates to see what synergies are available for our products which could benefit clients.
Whilst exhibiting, we also took advantage of some of the fantastic talks being held throughout the venue. Company culture and PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) were hot topics but the highlight for us has to be the Travel Technology Roadmap debate. The future of travel technology was discussed from the viewpoints of four very different panellists – Bill Beckler (Director of Innovation at lastminute.com), Patrick Bosworth (CEO of Duetto), Nate Buchholz (Industry Head of Travel, Google) and Simon Ferguson (Regional Director of Travelport). Intelligent search, increased travel content, an empowered selling experience and open platform were named as key areas to watch over the coming year.
Overall, it was a very successful event for us and we look forward to seeing where some of these exciting opportunities take us. We can’t wait for next year already!
