At Web Applications UK, we like to work hard and play hard. Social events are a key aspect to life here and alongside raising money for charity; we also hold weekly and monthly events providing a great opportunity to socialise. Here is some information into some of the goings on at Web Applications UK.

Occurring on the first Tuesday of every month, Curry Club is becoming a major hit, attracting more people every time. We make the short journey next door to Vamasaki, a new restaurant that offers an excellent menu and the night is always filled with laughter.

Starting on Halloween, our monthly film night is returning due to popular demand. Taking part on the last Wednesday of every month, we will settle after a hard day’s work, tuck into some pizza and watch a good film. The movie is chosen by attendees, so we could be watching anything when the night comes!

Board Game Club is a fortnightly event that has been running since July and is still going strong. 7 Wonders, Agricola and Battlestar Galatica are some of the favourite games and the number of attendees is increasing each time! Currently, one of our Webbies Graham is organising another fortnightly event, Xbox Club. Similarly to Board Game Club, it will involve a group of competitive Webbies playing various games on the Xbox to become top of the leader board. Keep your eye on our blogs to see how it goes!

Fantasy football is another aspect of the social life at Web Applications UK. Every year, at the beginning of the football season, many Webbies create their team and compete against the others to win Manager of the Month and win a prize. The overall prize is given at the end of the season and by then it always gets very competitive! This tradition has been running for a few years now and is still going strong. Even though I know next to nothing about football, I am definitely going to enter a team next month!

If all this isn’t enough, Web Applications UK is always getting involved in charity fundraisers. Macmillan Coffee Morning, Sport Relief and Comic Relief are just a few of the many events that we annually raise money for. On Friday 26th October, we will don our pink clothing in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness whilst indulging in a variety of pink food and drinks, with all proceeds going to charity. Throughout November, the men of Web Applications UK will be growing their moustaches to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer. An ever popular tradition at Web Applications UK, the men must begin with a clean shaven face at the start of November and whoever grows the best moustache by 30th November will be awarded The Mo Bro Award at our Mo Party!

An annual event is the Christmas party that is widely regarded as a key date the social calendar. A hit every year, us Webbies get suited and booted and treated to a night of great food, entertainment and music. The highlight of the evening for many is The Webbie Awards Ceremony, a humourous celebration of all our wonderful team members! This year, the Christmas party will be held at The National Football Museum on Friday 14th December.

As you can see, there is always something going on at Web Applications UK and we are always up for something new. Keep your eye out for upcoming blogs about each event!
