The seventh and penultimate Office Olympics event has finished and the winners have been decided!

Webbie Races was a battle of speed, driving skills and battery power as we raced remote controlled cars. Competing against fellow Webbies with a Subaru Impreza or Ford Fiesta RS, participants took part in a single elimination tournament.

For the first round, participants raced the full length of the downstairs office, with a few corners thrown in for good measure. Those who made it through to the quarter finals were met with a bigger challenge – looping around and returning to the start line. It was when turning that the Subaru had the real advantage, making the choice of car an important factor in the race.

During the semi-final, players used the speedy Subaru in a race against the clock. Nuzaif zoomed around the track in just 25.8 seconds, securing his spot in the final. The quickest of the four in this round was James who completed the course in 24.9 seconds! For the final, racers went up against the clock in the more difficult to handle Ford Fiesta. While James struggled to retain control of the car, Nuzaif showed off his real skill in this last race, making the 180 degree turn look effortless.

Huge congratulations to the winners:

Gold – Nuzaif
Silver – James
Bronze – Kat

Just one event remains in Office Olympics 2012 before the prize ceremony on Friday 27th July to coincide with the opening ceremony of London 2012.
