Lewis Howarth joins us for a week, rotating around the company for his work experience during year 10.
As part of his time spent with us in PR, Lewis wrote his own blog about his time here:
My time doing work experience at Web Applications UK has been nice, all the staff were very welcoming on my first day.
I have spent my time working with a different member of staff each day seeing what they do and how they do it. They have shown me new skills which may help me in later life. I have helped to make and set up PCs and helped develop software. I have also made and edited a short video.
I have enjoyed helping to make and set up PCs. It’s been fun fixing them when they break. I have also enjoyed making cables, it’s hard to get the hang of it but when you do its quite fun making them. I have also enjoyed making a short video on “Scratch”, it was fun and easy to get the hang of. Doing my work experience at Web Applications UK was fun, the people who work here are nice and they are very helpful – if you have a question they will answer it.
But I haven’t enjoyed making databases, I found it difficult to do and a bit boring. But even then the people I was working with showed me how to do it in the easiest way possible, the staff were very helpful.
My interests in I.T are graphic design and building PCs. I find these two things very fun and I enjoy doing them.
My plan for the future is to become a Graphics Designer. I find the subject fun and hope to go on to college doing this subject.

As it comes to the end of his week with us, Lewis is currently getting some time with the Graphic Designers. Hopefully they will inspire him further and help him on his way to his chosen career. Good luck in the future Lewis!
