Today we celebrated the Grand Opening of the Web Applications UK Centre of Excellence.
Her Worshipful The Mayor of Oldham Metropolitan Borough Councillor Olwen Chadderton officially opened the unique training facility at Elizabeth House. It was her first opening duty as Mayor and we were as delighted as she was for joining us at this momentous occasion.
Taking pride in providing bespoke training opportunities, WAUKCE brings a customised service to the Greater Manchester area. Instead of using full time trainers we only engage professionals who are active at the leading edge of their respective fields. We qualify all our developers as Certified Technical Trainers creating a powerful combination of relevance, authenticity and quality.
It was a busy time as we prepared not only for The Mayor’s arrival but also the invited guests. Food, drink and directions of where to park were all thought of for the day, making sure everyone who made it had a great time!
The Mayor was given a private tour of all three floors which comprise of training rooms, testing rooms and a board room. She was then taken to Windsor Works (Web Applications UK’s home) for a drink and a chat with some of our guests.
It was then time to head back to WAUKCE for the ribbon cutting to open the test centre. Attendees were treated to a tour and made their way upstairs for a speech delivered by Craig Dean thanking everyone for coming and introducing The Mayor.
The Mayor said how impressed she was with the Centre of Excellence and how much it lived up to its name. With the I.T. industry forever changing she reiterated how important it is to keep up to date with the latest technologies and that WAUKCE was such a beneficial addition to the Oldham community. We think so too!
