The Social Revolution conference on March 24 was organised by the Travel Technology Initiative (TTI) on the use of Social Media (SM) within the travel industry. We learned some great ways to get more out of our Social Media strategy, here’s how the day went.
Chairman Peter Dennis and WTM’s Jo Marshall
The conference began with an introduction from the TTI Chairman Peter Dennis who gave the strong impression that this conference was definitely NOT his idea. However strange an introduction that might be, he seemed genuinely intrigued by the topics of discussion and an open mind to learn something that was conceivably out of his comfort zone. Next up out of the introductory speakers was Jo Marshall from the World Travel Market (WTM), one of the two main sponsors. Jo emphasised the multi-nationality of the WTM exhibition (49% British, 51% rest of the world) and it’s concentration on technology in the years going forward. Definitely food for thought. If you’d like more information on the WTM (it’s a November conference so this is the time to start thinking about it), you can visit their website
