The Globe Travel Awards Event is an annual Award Ceremony for some of the biggest names in the Travel Industry. The awards are presented by Travel Weekly in association with Associated Newspapers and will be held at Grosvenor House in London’s Park Lane. The Globe Travel Awards are unique as the trade sector awards are voted for and decided upon solely by travel agents, with readers of Associated Newspapers voting in the Consumer Awards. In this way the winners are decided by their peers and customers.
TWgroup chief executive Simon Ferguson said: “After a tough year for the industry, agents are keener than ever to show their support for key suppliers. Winning a globe is a high point for any company, but doing it with the approval of so many people in the trade makes it extra special. We look forward to announcing the winners on what will prove to be a very special night.”
There are three main Awards: Innovation in Travel, Outstanding Achievement and Unsung Hero; in addition to 29 agency/consumer awards. The Unsung Hero award will be decided by Judge’s Panel and entry submissions must be completed by November 12, 2010 for the other two core awards. Nominations for Travel Agents’ favourite suppliers have passed; a shortlist of the nominees will appear in the November 19th issue of Travel Weekly and Travel Agents will have until December 10th to vote for their preferred companies. Readers of Associated Newspapers will vote in the Consumer Awards. The winners will be announced at the ceremony on January 17th 2011. Book your place at the Travel Awards now before places run out.
