If you are sitting there thinking, hmm, I thought you were already a Small Business Specialist, well, you would be correct, but SURPRISE! We are now re-certified. The emotions you are looking for are relief and elation.
So, why should you care? Well, maybe you should ask yourself, am I a small business? Am I partnered with a small business? Do I know of anyone who works in a small business? Yes, okay good, that’s why you should care. Small businesses have separate and specific needs that require a specialised skill set. A skill set we possess.

Microsoft Small Business Specialists look after small businesses day in, day out. They understand the issues you face, and enjoy solving them.

There you have it and I must say, we sound pretty great, and well, we are. We have been re-certified. It’s an interesting word, re-certified. Technically speaking ‘Small Business Specialist’ isn’t a certification per se, it’s a designation (and soon to be a competency). ‘We are re-designated Small Business Specialists’ doesn’t sound as great but it’s ostensibly more accurate. This little wording dispute will take care of itself next year because in October 2010 Microsoft is adding Small Business Solution Provider to its burgeoning list of competencies.
